Just to honor the breast-feeding concerns…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Jul 2, 2009 in Unfiled Stuff

It’s a breast-feeding support kit from Enfamil, which The Todd cynically remarked is like “Big Tobacco offering smoking cessasion programs.” But we’ve already addressed the whole supplementing issue, and this is a nice little kit with pads, info and such. Also, can I strongly suggest that when you’re expecting, you seek out the lactation experts in the hospital where you plan to deliver? Most midwives and doulas are rock stars at supporting you as well.

(Editor’s note:) I myself got my hospital lactation assistance in ICU with a breathing tube down my throat. It was SO not like “Baby Story” on TLC! Talk about a birthing plan shot to hell…

Thanks, Coupon Geek!

Plan-ahead savings for a special night at Fleming’s

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Jul 2, 2009 in Unfiled Stuff

I don’t see many deals for 5 star restaraunts, so this one is worth a little effort: Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is offering up a pretty nice deal. If you reserve a “Memorable Meal: Alaskan King Crab” using the online reservation system here, you’ll receive a FREE $25 Fleming’s Card at the conclusion of your meal! The Card is valid to use 9/1/09 – 9/30/09, in the main dining area. The Memorable Meal for 2 is priced at $99, so it’s definitely on the more expensive side. However, it is a 3 course meal with a salad, entree and dessert. You’ll also get to choose between Filet Mignon and/or Alaskan King Crab Legs. You can also sweeten this deal even more by purchasing a $100 Fleming’s gift cards at Costco. I have heard that the $100 gift cards are priced at $79, so buy one and use it to pay for the $99 Memorable Meal. Final cost will be $79 + tax and a tip. Plus, you’ll have an additional $25 gift card to spend at a later date.
Thanks, It’s Hip To Save!
