Build A Bear, you are SHUNNED!
So, got an email from girlie Julie, who printed off the $5.00 Build A Bear coupon and tried to redeem it for a birthday gift for her daughter. The Build A Bear at the Gateway in Salt Lake City, Utah refused to redeem it, claiming that it was “from an illegal site.”
Since the link was sent to me directly from the Build A Bear website, that seems unlikely. I spoke to a couple of veteran bargain bloggers, who told me that sometimes local owners try to weasel out of national promotions by claiming that exact excuse. I’ll be calling the Gateway’s Build A Bear management tomorrow to get an explanation. Until then–SHUNNED. Shame on them.
