Free Prescription drugs for the unemployed

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Sep 30, 2009 in Coupons, Free-Bees Giveaways, Looking for Work Resources |

One of the scariest things about losing your job is the loss of health benefits. Prescriptions are appallingly expensive. Pfizer is offering to supply free prescriptions if you’re out of work and on one of their drugs, like Lipitor. Here’s a list of requirements: http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/health/2009-05-14-pfizer-free-drugs-viagra_N.htmhttp://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/health/2009-05-14-pfizer-free-drugs-viagra_N.htm

UPDATE: There’s a new website called www.needymeds.org that offers broader coverage and more options to get your prescriptions covered.  Drop by and see how they can help you…

I forwarded this on to some people who I know did not have RX coverage. We were in that same boat a few years back ( with 3 kids with special needs) It is so hard ..so thank you for posting this , it will help alot of people! Even if its just for a few meds..anything is better than nothing! When we were going through this a few years back we sold family heirlooms to get asthma medication for our Johnathan because he has severe asthma and was suffering from strider episodes and needed medication for his neutralizer!

That’s a decision NO parent should EVER have to make! I’m so sorry! PS: see the update, it might offer broader coverage. You’re a good friend…
