Target’s got something cool this week…
I was hunting for some big spiders for The Todd’s spooky front yard at Target and found this in the toy aisle: buy any one of the following specially marked games: Battleship, Guess Who, Operation, Sorry, or Twister you’ll find a $10 coupon inside for a free medium Domino’s pizza! The best part? The games are on sale for $9.00! (Editor’s note: this is why I love Google Image, I asked for pizza and Twister and I got…people playing Twister on pizza. So, there you go.)
Melissa and Doug toys on the cheap!
I’m a big fan of Melissa and Doug because of their well-made, wooden toys. The price? Not so much. So, this is a great option!
Amazon.com has the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Railway Set priced at $64.99–down from $119.99! The set comes with 128 pieces…a roundhouse engine shed, dozens of tracks in curves and straights, trees, workers, traffic signs, and such. Plus, this ships FREE with Super Saver Shipping!
Sneaky inside tip: the set also qualifies for the free-bee subscription to Parenting Early Years or Parenting School Years included with your purchase (a $9.97 value). However, if you don’t want the subscription, just take the $9.97 rebate. You’ll receive an email within 8 days after purchasing your items with full offer and refund details. Your info is here.
Thanks, It’s Hip 2 Save!

Southwest Airfare Sale, get moving!
I was pricing airfare to go to New England and almost gagged on some of the Thanksgiving price hikes. This may make the difference on whether you can travel for the holiday season. It’s the Southwest Airlines airfare sale!
Depending on how far you’ll be traveling, you can pick up tickets for as low as $25, $50, $75, or $100 each way! There will be some additional ticketing fees (as always) and dates are limited.
Go here for more information. Sale ends 10/29/09 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Good luck!
Thanks, Frugal Girls!
Hey, the $2.00 candy coupons reset!
Go here to see if they were reset for you, too!
Thanks for the heads-up, Frugal Girls!
And you didn’t think procrastination pays off…
Got an exciting email from the Old Navy folks yesterday. Old Navy is getting rid of all their remaining costumes Friday and Saturday (Oct. 30-31) for $2.00 each! That’s not a typo–2 bucks! Some of these costumes were orginially marked at $50.00! I’m certain selection won’t be vast, but there’s plenty of options at the two stores by us, I’m thinking about buying one size bigger for next year, and there’s always dressup!
Here’s a recession-proof job…
…I have a girlfriend who just finished nursing school and got job offers from three different states before she finished her final year! I like the fact that at the age of 42, she was still considered financially “viable” and highly sought after. There seems to be a lot more “ageism” during a recession, at a younger and younger age.
New Glade holiday candles–bogo free!
Right @ Home has a new coupon for the Glade Holiday Collection candles. I like these because they’re soy-based and don’t give off soot. Print your buy one get one free coupon here.
Stockpiling for the Holidays…
I’m starting my little stockpile now of free or nearly holiday gifties…I always ended up spending the most money on those polite hostess gifts or co-worker presents when they got ME something and I forgot to get THEM something so I run out in the middle of the night and start scouring 7-11…sigh. Anyway, this one is WONDERFUL–three big fat boxes of gourmet Gevalia coffee and a stainless steel travel mug, all for only $3.00! One box of this kind of coffee alone is usually about $15-20.00. You will love this company–no spam, just life-giving caffeine.
