Target’s got something cool this week…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Oct 28, 2009 in Clearance sales, Coupons

Pizza-Twister-41918 I was hunting for some big spiders for The Todd’s spooky front yard at Target and found this in the toy aisle: buy any one of the following specially marked games: Battleship, Guess Who, Operation, Sorry, or Twister you’ll find a $10 coupon inside for a free medium Domino’s pizza! The best part?  The games are on sale for $9.00!  (Editor’s note: this is why I love Google Image, I asked for pizza and Twister and I got…people playing Twister on pizza.  So, there you go.)

Southwest Airfare Sale, get moving!

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Oct 28, 2009 in Clearance sales

airplanesI was pricing airfare to go to New England and almost gagged on some of the Thanksgiving price hikes.  This may make the difference on whether you can travel for the holiday season.  It’s the  Southwest Airlines airfare sale!

Depending on how far you’ll be traveling, you can pick up tickets for as low as $25, $50, $75, or $100 each way! There will be some additional ticketing fees (as always) and dates are limited.

Go here for more information. Sale ends 10/29/09 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.  Good luck!

Thanks, Frugal Girls!

And you didn’t think procrastination pays off…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Oct 28, 2009 in Clearance sales

Halloween_email_minor_03Got an exciting email from the Old Navy folks yesterday.  Old Navy is getting rid of all their remaining costumes Friday and Saturday (Oct. 30-31) for $2.00 each!  That’s not a typo–2 bucks!  Some of these costumes were orginially marked at $50.00!  I’m certain selection won’t be vast, but there’s plenty of options at the two stores by us, I’m thinking about buying one size bigger for next year, and there’s always dressup!

Here’s a recession-proof job…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Oct 28, 2009 in Looking for Work Resources

…I have a girlfriend who just finished nursing school and got job offers from three different states before she finished her final year!  I like the fact that at the age of 42, she was still considered financially “viable” and highly sought after.  There seems to be a lot more “ageism” during a recession, at a younger and younger age.

Stockpiling for the Holidays…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Oct 28, 2009 in Unfiled Stuff

GevaliaI’m starting my little stockpile now of free or nearly holiday gifties…I always ended up spending the most money on those polite hostess gifts or co-worker presents when they got ME something and I forgot to get THEM something so I run out in the middle of the night and start scouring 7-11…sigh.  Anyway, this one is WONDERFUL–three big fat boxes of  gourmet Gevalia coffee and a stainless steel travel mug, all for only $3.00!  One box of this kind of coffee alone is usually about $15-20.00.  You will love this company–no spam, just life-giving caffeine.
