Going green for the Holidays…
…and I mean that literally.
Take your old Christmas lights to Home Depot from November 5th-15th and get a $3 coupon for each set (up to 5 sets) good on any energy efficient LED Christmas lights. Home Depot LED lights will be $5.97 during the dates above- or only $2.97 each after the trade-in coupon!
One of the nicest elements of this offer is that LED lights use up to 80% less energy than regular ones. I must confess to being partial to the old-school lights, but this kind of savings makes sense both financially and envoirnmentally! Look at how good you will be for Mother Nature!
Thanks again, A Thrifty Mom!

Free-Bee crafts at Lakeshore Learning
The Lakeshore Learning craft activity this Saturday is a cute Veteran’s Day flag. I noticed while I was on their site that they’re having a 75% off sale online, and you can print off free-bee word flashcards! Might be handy for spelling drills. (I have to chase MacLean around the attic with flashcards on Thursday night before his spelling test.) The store is a great resource for free-bee craft ideas, and resources for parents and teachers. Go here for more info.
Plan ahead free-bee

This could keep them busy while you shop with the Home Depot card you’re about to win from That Went Well, eh? You can get more info and closest locations here.

$4.00 off the new dvd release of “UP!”
Print this one off and hang onto it–the dvd “UP!” comes out NEXT Tuesday, 11.10.09. You can get a $4 rebate HERE on the dvd with the purchase of any one of the following brands:
-Creamette
-Ronzoni Smart Taste
-Ronzoni San Giorgio
-American Beauty

-Skinner
There’s also a couple of $1.00 off 2 box coupons here. Thanks, Moms By Heart!
(Editor’s note: we had a chance to interview the director of “UP!”, Bob Doctor. He’s the same man who directed “Finding Nemo.” He’s this unbelieveably tall, gawky guy who’s fish-pale from being in the production studio 24/7. He told us it took 5 years from start to finish to make this movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, it is incredible. Wait ’till you see the sweet scenes between the Old Man and his wife in the beginning.)
This is the king of consumer research!
They’re opening up slots for new people on the Nielsen Research Panel. The Todd and I have applied three times and they’ve never had need of our zip code, I guess. If you make it in, you get a small, hand-held scanner that you use throughout the day on your purchases. The info uploads, you get credits, and voila! You’re shopping like Paris Hilton, baby! Let me know if you get in so we can follow along.
Free-Bee Christmas postcards!
I was thinking about this yesterday after seeing how many of the girlies like the free customized mailing labels from VistaPrint. If you wander through their options, you’ll also see how to get 100 custom Holiday cards for only s/h. (For me, it was $5.93.) Walk through this with me, won’t you?
1. Click on Mr. Happy Flashing Purple Box, and then click on the 100 free postcards offer
2. Search holiday postcards or upload your own photo or design. There’s an option there to design your postcards.
3. At checkout, you’ll get 100 postcards for free! Just pay s/h, and yay, you!
Sneaky inside tip: If you’re a traditionalist, you can still add coordinating envelopes to your order for around $3.75.
Thanks for the reminder, Money Saving Mom!
