Gifts in a Jar…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Dec 11, 2009 in Free-Bees Giveaways, Free-or Cheap-Family Fun

jarA group of my equally finance-challenged girlfriends and I did this a few years back; we each got a case of Mason jars and had to come up with the most creative gifts packaged in the jars.  Mine weren’t that clever (Editor’s note: yes, you’re so shocked, because you know what a Martha Stewart I am) I used my favorite chocolate chunk cookie recipe with the dry goods layered.

jars But my girlie Martha did a whole afternoon of kid’s activities in a jar…Caroline fit in a pair a shoes (don’t ask, it got weird) and Janna did the Mason jar Night of Romance.  It was hysterical!  Here’s an entire E Book called “Gifts in a Jar,” and it’s a free-bee!  You can download it here.    There’s some great ideas for last-minute gifties–nice to have in the closet when someone you didn’t plan on drops by with a gift for you.  These cute home made ideas look far more personal than that candle with a ribbon hastily slapped on, eh?jarss

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Dec 11, 2009 in Coupons

lakeshoreHey kids, I got this sweet letter from Jessica over at Lakeshore Learning:

“Dear That Went Well: We want to thank you for the great things you’ve been saying about Lakeshore Learning Materials!

As a thank you for your support, we’d like to extend an offer to you and your readers. When buying products on our web site enter coupon code VMB155 at checkout. The code will give the purchaser $5.oo off any $25.00 purchase. This offer will remain valid until 12/31/09. Feel free to post this coupon code on your blog for all your readers to enjoy!

We’d also like to encourage you and your readers to enjoy the free resources available at our web site. We’ve got craft ideas, free clip art, and lots more! Just visit us here.”

How nice!  Once again, just enter code VBM155 when picking something up from www.lakeshorelearning.com for $5.00 of a $25.00 purchase.  Yay, Lakeshore!

(Editor’s note: one of the warmest endorsements I hear for Lakeshore is from the Autism Moms–these amazing ladies say that nearly everything you can purchase on one of the specialized Autism support sites can be bought at Lakeshore–usually for half the price.  It kills me that these families fighting to save their kids with Autism can be overcharged!)
