Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Feb 3, 2010 in Coupons for Kids, Coupons for Mommy

books 017 (WinCE)Look at what Mr. Mailbox brought us!  This is the Children’s Book of the Month Club I’ve posted about before.  You probably already know of my filthy love of books…here’s a wonderful option to get a big pile of beautiful hardback books for your little people for next to nothin’!

Here’s how it works: you can pick from thousands of choices and get 6 books for only $2.00.  They’ll ask you to pick out 4 more books sometime within the year.  Sneaky inside tip:  they give you an option to pick out one or two more books for only $4.95 each right then.  You’ll receive this cute insulated tote bag free.  You have a month to decide if you like the books.  If not return everything and walk away.  All books are always 25-35% off list prices.

My total?  8 beautiful hardback books…retail: $138.00.  Book of the Month Club? $11.90

Take a look at the zillions of options here.  OOO!  Just noticed they have the new “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” books.  I’ll have to get those for my last two!

Yay me!  (Editor’s note: you might notice “Eclipse” featured in this selection.  You might remember that my boys are only 9 and probably don’t read vampire lit.  Okay!  I bought it for myself!  Fine!  C’mon, it’s was $4.95!  Geez!  Don’t look at me like that!)

Game Day Appetizers

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Feb 3, 2010 in Free-Bees Giveaways, Free-or Cheap-Family Fun

footballIt’s entertaining that the carefully titled “Game Day” Appetizers cookbook popped up today.  We were just given a memo from our corporate lawyers at B 98.7fm about what we’re legally allowed to say on air regarding the Super–ah–I mean, the “game that two teams of a professional nature will be playing on Sunday, February 7.  This game may or may not involve a football.  I don’t know because I might get sued by an organization whose initials are N, F, and L.”

Seriously.  They can sue us.

Sooo, let’s just go with a lovely downloadable cookbook chock full of appetizers that you might enjoy during a party this Sunday that might possibly revolve around some sort of game showing on television.  Have fun!  Don’t get sued!  You can download the free-bee cookbook here.
