Here’s a tip that I want you to PRINT OFF AND COMMIT TO MEMORY!!!

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Feb 6, 2010 in Free-Bees Giveaways, Resources

Not here to judge–but if you’ve had one too many rum and Diet Cokes during the Big Game Sunday, please have this information ready.

Travel-services agency AAA has a great free-bee offer for those who will be drinking during the Super Bowl. From 6 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7,  through 6 a.m. Feb. 8, AAA’s free ”Tipsy Tow” service will take anyone who has been drinking home for free and they’ll tow your car home along with you, too. (This offer is available to anyone as a public service, not just AAA members.) The trick is to party fairly close to home: The free tow service is available up to five miles. Party hosts, bartenders and restaurant managers are encouraged to keep the toll-free AAA number handy for those who don’t know about the service.

All you have to do is call 800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP) Tell the operator that you need a “tipsy tow.”    Sneaky inside tip: Keep in mind this is a one-way ride for a driver and a vehicle to the driver’s home. If there are additional passengers, they can be taken to the driver’s home, too, as long as there is sufficient room for them to ride safely in the tow truck.

Thanks, my dear One Cheap Chick!

Last-minute Valentine’s gifties!

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Feb 6, 2010 in Resources

candyUsed to be you only had to worry about grabbing some roses for the better half on Valentine’s Day.  Those days are over–I have to get gifties for the twin’s teachers, my mom, The Todd’s mom, our neighbors, friends at work–geez, it’s worse than Christmas!  I downloaded two free-bee craft E Books and made some really cute things this weekend.  Some of them are simple and achievable even for nine year old boys.  My personal favorite was this cute candy bouquet.  Now I just have to hide it from MacLean long enough to give to his teacher…

You can download the books here.  Have fun!

Handy-Dandy Websites…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Feb 6, 2010 in Resources

hmmmWEB2PDFCONVERT.COM: enter any url into this site and it’ll convert that bad boy into a tidy little pdf file for you–all for free!  Need a copy of a 1099?  Maybe a lasagna recipe?  It’s got your back.

STILLTASTY.COM: can I tell you how sick I am of The Todd making me smell things like out of date milk and bad oysters to “see if they’re okay?”  Visit this free-bee site and type in whatever foodstuff you’re unsure of.  It’ll tell you–frozen, canned, or fresh–if it’s still safe to eat and how long you’ve got.
