20% Off At StyleCraft Frames
The biggest lesson I’ve learned from all the organizational shows: stuff in your drawers is junk–the things you choose to honor by displaying them makes them treasure. I found a beautiful old set of tools that The Todd’s grandfather used. John MacLean helped design some of the heating elements for the first space suits for NASA! What better way to honor him than by making a really lovely shadowbox with the tools?
The Todd and I toured StyleCraft Frames the other day, and I’m taking Grandpa John’s tools down to Kyle to have him make the shadowbox. It’s an amazing place–they have their own huge workshop/factory thingie in back and do all their work onsite. I saw some exquisite, custom work. I could tell that Kyle’s team “gets it,” by the respectful way they handled some of these items. Do you have a poster from a concert? Maybe a christening gown? Quilting blocks salvaged from your grandmother? Don’t let them get torn up anymore.
Sneaky inside tip: no criticism here, but I’ve noticed that the sale prices from the craft stores when they do the big “50% Off!” sales are still higher than StyleCraft. In fact, many of the stores send their orders to him anyway.
Here’s a 20% off coupon for your entire first order from StyleCraft! I’m already planning to go back with the twin’s christening gowns and a piece of lace my great-great-great grandmother made. You can take a look at StyleCraft’s website here.

Kids Bowl Free This Summer!
I’m scratching around for events to get the twins excited for summer. (Editor’s note: who am I kidding? If I don’t hang onto hope that Mr. Sun will finally show up on our bleak and chilly landscape I’m sticking my head in the oven.) The “Kids Bowl Free” Program was such a success last summer that participating locations are opening their lanes again. Find a bowling center near you here and sign-up your offspring to receive 2 free-bee games of bowling a day during the summer. They are also offering a Family Pass this time. They start at around $24.95 and it’s a one-time fee so adults can join the children in bowling throughout the summer.
(Editor’s note: got a nice comment from Tammy, who did this with her family last summer: “There is no gimmick to this, I have signed up for the last two years and it is completely free (you pay for shoes rental unless you have them). We got the family pack which was great! This has been one of the best deals for us as a family in a long time and I wonder how they make it work for free, but it works!”)
Thanks, Coupon Geek!
The 80% Off Sale At Restaurant.com Is Back!
I’m getting a little spoiled, I don’t bother to tell you about the Restaurant.com unless they’ve got the 80% off sale running. Which…they do! Go through 3.31.10, you can buy a $25.00 gift certificate to your favorite restaurant for only $2.00. Go here, type in your zip code and how far you’re willing to drive, and all the eateries will pop up. The Todd and I like to try out new places with these coupons–no real risk if they turn out to be a bust. DO remember that each restaurant will have their own rules about how you can use the gift certificate, so read the find print. Sneaky inside tip: at checkout, enter the code word “cook” and hit apply to get your discount.
