There’s More To St. Patrick’s Day Than The Green Beer…
…not that I’m knocking the green beer, mind you.
Locals, get a look at this:
The 21st Annual Leprechaun Lope–
8:30 Race start at the steps of the Utah State Capitol tomorrow (3.13.10) This is a state-sanctioned 5k that qualifies runners for upcoming marathons this summer. There’s also a 1 mile run and a 1 mile walk…saunter…stumble…whatever you’re up for. I love this race because half the runners dress up–it’s the most playful, random event ever. You’ll be done in time for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at the Gateway. At this point, just register at the race tomorrow. For more info, go here.
Then, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at the Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City. The parade starts at 10am at the North end of the Gateway, insiders try to go for the bridge spans over the street for the best view. Be sure to stay for the Siasma (party) afterwards, sponsored by the Salt Lake Hibernian Society.
THEN, the 22nd Annual Salt Lake Scots Pipe Band’s Concert–
“For Valour” A Pipes of War Concert at Highland High School in Salt Lake City, 7:30. Wonderful Highland dancing, pipes–always an incredible night. $10.00 per person or $46.00 for 6 people. For more info, go to www.slscotspipeband.org
