Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on May 30, 2010 in Gift Card Giveaways From TWW

giftCongratulations to Tammy Kennedy, our winner this week for the $50.00 Home Depot card!  Tammy wrote: “My family needs a new grill so bad ours has the bottom completely rusted out, so dear hubby took the racks from 2 old grills and wedged them inside so charcoal won’t fall out.  Well, after charcoal gets hot pieces are falling onto the cement so you have to watch were you step.  If I was lucky enough to win a new grill would be my purchase. With a daughter graduating money is so tight we can’t afford a new grill.  Hubby said today money is so tight if I want anything for the rest of the summer I have to win it, so I’m entering to be a winner.”

Enjoy your new grill, Tammy, sounds like you’ve earned it! ;)

2 Months Of Jazzercise $126.00–Down To $39.00

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on May 24, 2010 in Coupons, Resources

jazzerciseThe Awesome of Groupon.com continues–today’s local deal is 2 months of Jazzercise–regularly $126.00–down to only $39.00!  There’s no more important time to sign up!  My girlie Janelle lost 56 pounds there, and she hates gyms.  We were all shocked when she signed up, frankly.  ;)   You can take a look here

Not yet in love with Groupon.com?  They send one killer coupon a day to your email with offers for everything from food to shows to waterparks for 50-90% off.  No spam, no selling your info.  Just fabulous bargain goodness.  Go here to find out what they’re offering in your neck of the woods.  They’re everywhere, my little cabbage…

Want to know more?

Today’s deal gets you two months of access to Jazzercise classes at any of the Salt Lake City area’s ten locations for $39, a $126 value. This funk-fueled, head-to-toe regimen tightens muscles, boosts energy, and sheds pounds.

Jazzercise is 60 minutes of cardio, strength training, and stretching that incorporates moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training with handheld weights. Dancing With the Stars multiple-champion Cheryl Burke is a big fan of Jazzercise’s improvisational workouts, though luckily you won’t need her dance moves to get the most out of your class. If you’re prone to first-class jitters, though, you can review the basic moves online before you go. Expect to burn off up to 500 calories with each go-round.

Free-Bee Spicy Chicken Sandwich From Chick-fil-A

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on May 21, 2010 in Facebook Free-bees and offers

chickChick fil A is being rather clever–they’re offering you a free-bee spicy chicken sandwich with a reservation–I mean, literally a reservation.  You pick your location between 5.31 and 6.5, and they’ll have your free-bee sandwich waiting for you.  (Editor’s note: I’m thinking they learned from the KFC Grilled Chicken debacle and want to make sure that when you show, there’s the promised item ready.)  Go here to reserve your yumminess!

Once again, thanks to my friends over at the Backcountry Radio Network for the tip!

Start Gearing Up For Summer…

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on May 19, 2010 in Free-Bees Giveaways, Free-or Cheap-Family Fun

…I don’t want to frighten you, sister, but we’re weeks–nay, days away from the dreaded summer vacation.  You know, where the children wake up at 4:30am on the first day, and shriek–”what are we doing today?”  Or is that just at my house?

But I digress.

Anyway, here’s some things to plan ahead:

DoubleDogDareBorders and Barnes & Noble both are offering summer reading programs this year.  At Border’s, your little people get a free-bee book after reading 10.  At Barnes & Noble, kids get a free-bee tome after going through 8.  The twins and I are starting on “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” this summer!

summermoviecamp_710x187We’ve talked before about the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse, but the AMC chain is also offering discounted summer flicks.  Tickets run between 50 cents and $1.00 per show.

catapultNearly every Saturday sees fun and free-bee craft projects at all kinds of places.  My personal favorite for quality and good instruction is the Lowe’s Build and Grow Workshops.  This Saturday’s (5.22.10) workshop is the wooden catapult seen above.  Workshops start at 10am and you’re asked to register online to make sure materials are ready for you.  At The Home Depot, the next project at the Kid’s Workshop is a wooden soccer tabletop game on Saturday, 6.5.10 at 9am.  Both home stores have summer schedules set up for the kids already.

craft052210Craft stores and education supply shops are always good resoucres for free-bee fun.  Lakeshore Learning holds a free-bee workshop every Saturday from 11-3p.  This weekend is “Tear Art Tambourines.”  The website is an excellent resource for free summer craft activities, too!  Over at Michael’s, join The Knack For Kid’s group for free or nearly free activities every month–next Saturday (5.29.10) it’s a Father’s Day card-making workshop.  Plus, you’ll pick up a 40% off coupon by joining The Knack.

readingEvery city’s public library system has incredible opportunities for free-bee reading programs, parties, arts and crafts–even homework help to keep kids sharp during the summer break.  For locals, take a look at the upcoming schedule at your local branch here.
