Living With Diabetes? Here’s An Incredible Resource: Diabetes Connect

Posted by Erin (and sometimes The Todd) on Jul 17, 2010 in Free-Bees Giveaways, Recommendations, Resources |

Diabetes has never hit home as brutally as when I found out that sweet little Max, one of the twin’s dearest friends, was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  There’s an explosion of kids with diabetes right now, and all of us have at least one friend or two who’ve been diagnosed as adults.  I started doing research for my girlie Jannelle a couple of months ago and found Diabetes Connect–it’s my favorite site so far for advice, new research, discounts on important medical equipment, free-bees, and best of all support.  It’s so much better when you can share your experiences with someone who really gets it.  Join the community here.

My husband and I worry about diabetes because we’re both overweight, but so far so good. One of our cats, though, is diabetic. We order his syringes from American Diabetes Wholesale because it’s cheaper than the vet. They always fill the orders very quickly; I typically receive the order in a couple of days. Just thought I’d share that while we’re on the subject, since I know it can be a tough decision to go with an online company for the first time, particularly when your health is involved!

Sorry about your kitty–my best girlfriend has a feline that requires injections of Prozac! Prozac is supposed to calm her down, but the injection certainly doesn’t…
