Free Printable Chore Charts For Kids
Even at 12 years old, my Zachie and MacLean still do better with chore charts and planners with pictures. More and more kids are really visual learners, and it’s faster to register something on those busy little brains when there’s a picture attached. Now that Zoe’s a full year–so fast!–it’s time to give her a little chore chart, too. I’m finding that it’s easier to build the habit by starting when our little people are young enough to be excited about helping out. I found these from Over The Big Moon, see if they work for you. Go here to print and see some other excellent ideas.
Free Printable Blog Planners
2012 thus far has been a grim reminder over and over about how much more organization my blogging life requires. Especially now that more people are contributing to That Went Well, or are relying on certain features every week. If you’ve missed out on something you count on from me, know that I know I suck. But, I’m getting better! In a few weeks you’ll see a new site design we’ve been working on. (Editor’s note: site design is similar to an elephant’s gestation period. Two freaking years longer than it should be!) There’s some personal planning items I’ve been fooling around with. I love this blogger’s planner from Infarrently Creative. Download it free by clicking here.

Free–Or Cheap–Weekend Family Fun
For the Locals:
Just a reminder: The Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum in downtown Salt Lake City is offering a free celebration of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday today (Friday, 3.2.12). The party is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kem and Carolyn Gardner Theater, and includes a screening of the upcoming season of “The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot About That.” Your little people can make Lorax trees, and green eggs. The first 500 kids will receive a free signature red and white striped Cat in the Hat-inspired hat and a free book.
And don’t forget, you can get in free to the Discovery Gateway children’s museum in downtown Salt Lake City on Wednesday, March 14.
On the first of each month, Salt Lake City public libraries hand out free Community Exploration Cards, while supplies last. Each card provides free general admission for up to four people to Discovery Gateway children’s museum, Red Butte Garden and The Leonardo museum and the Utah Museum of Natural History. A limited number of the cards are available at each of the Salt Lake City (not county) public libraries at the beginning of each month.
Each card is good for one month only. The cards are popular and go very fast, library employees say, so you’ll want to go on the first of each month when the library nearest you opens to try and get one. For a list of city library branches and when each opens, go HERE. Go HERE for details about the card.
Chipotle’s free meal for Boy Scouts offer on Saturday, March 3 has been very popular, but there were questions about where the deal includes Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. I contacted the company earlier this week and was told the offer is only for Boy Scouts. Sorry.
So, on Saturday, March 3, Boy Scouts in uniform can get a free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos at Chipotle restaurants. Boy Scouts can head in from 11 a.m. – 8p.m. for their free meal. To find a Chipotle near you, go HERE.
Free Do It Yourelf Clinics:
Home Depot’s Kid Clinic is this Saturday (3.3) from 9a to noon. Your little people get an orange Home Depot apron and a cute wooden sports car to create the official Home Depot race care. Click here to find your closest location.
Lowe’s Kid Clinics are wildly popular–they’re at 10am and your little people can make well-crafted wooden toys. NEXT Saturday (3.10) will be in honor of March Madness–a wooden basketball tabletop game. Click here to find your closest location and register.
Lakeshore Learning’s clinic this weekend makes a fancy-dancy designer “jeweled” mirror. Free workshops run 11a-3p and you can find your location AND print off a 20% off coupon to shop while the Littles are busy. Go here to fid your closest locati0n.

Free “Thank You Note” Printables For Kids
My mother was fairly ruthless about making us write “Thank You” notes, so I in turn terrorized the twins into writing a prompt thank-you for gifts and such. I did cheat and buy bright, fun cards that took a little of the effort out of it. Here’s an even thriftier option: free printables from New Season Design. Click here to download.

Up To 20% Back & The Best Price On Sports & Outdoor Gear
Yes, I’m officially a junkie, but I won’t require rehab. Active Junky is going to save me a trillion and a half dollars. It’s a price comparison site for all your sports and outdoor gear. Type in what you want–I needed a North Face snowsuit for Zoe–and it compares prices, adds your discount or sometimes free shipping and gives you the best offer. Then, you get up to 20% cash back! The North Face snowsuit usually runs $125.00. I picked it up for $49.50 and got 20% cash back, which makes the final total $39.00. Not bad, eh? It’s free to sign up, of course, by clicking here. Given that my family–from The Todd down through the twins to Zoe–need new equipment every year and then lose half of that, this might actually keep me out of bankruptcy. See for yourself.
