Free-Bee Wednesday At The Utah Museum Of Fine Arts
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is surprisingly accessible for kids–be sure to check out one of the backpacks–also free–at the front desk. It’s full of activities to do around the museum. Admission is free tomorrow (Wednesday.) Click here for more info and directions.
Free-Bee Family Stuff…
The Utah Museum of Natural Historyis free-bee admission Monday (5.3.10). Be sure to check out the big scary dinosaur skeletons and the pretty “Rivers” exhibit. There’s real-life paleontologists working on an excavation as you watch! Go here for directions and times.
And on Wednesday (5.5.10) there’s free-bee admission to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. It’s a surprisingly kid-friendly atmosphere with “adventure backpacks” to check out free at the front desk. The backpacks will lead you on adventures and projects around the Museum. In honor of Cinco De Mayo, the Museum is unveiling their “Arts of Mexico” exhibition. Go here for more info.
Earth Day Fun

The Ogden Nature Center is celebrating with a free-bee day of fun–soda bottle seed growing, entertainment, a native plant sale, a recycled arts and crafts sale…it’s free if you walk, bike or ride the bus, or only $1.00 if you drive. The fun starts at noon and runs through 4pm on Saturday. Go here for more info.
At the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, kids can create a gorgeous painted canvas–free! “View The Continuing Allure”: Painters of Utah’s Red Rock and be inspired by the landscape of your home state as you paint a stretched canvas to adorn the walls of your home. Created for children ages four to twelve, the activities are designed to give kids a better understanding of artworks in the museum’s collection and in special exhibitions. And on Wednesday, (3.3.10) the Utah Museum of Fine Arts opens it’s doors for free. Be sure to check out one of the cute kid’s backpacks at the front desk–it’s full of activities and adventures to do around the Museum. This isn’t a stuffy place–there’s lots of things to interest and excite little people. I’ve taken Z&M through several times without knocking over a single statue or setting anything on fire.
